Our Purpose

My Mission

To ensure no pet owner ever loses their beloved companion to missed information, poor communication, or lack of transparency in veterinary care.

Dog and owner bond

Why This Mission Exists

We placed our full trust in our veterinary team and believed we had been provided with a complete understanding of Solo’s CT scan results and condition.
Based on the notes provided by Ace Vet Care, we did not find any reference indicating that the abnormalities in the soft palate findings were discussed with us during that consultation. We only became aware of the significance of these findings later, after reviewing the available information and learning more about Solo’s diagnosis.
Solo was subsequently diagnosed with advanced oral melanoma, including a 4.6 cm tumour, and we were informed that treatment options available locally were extremely limited.
Solo passed away on January 5, 2026. Losing him was devastating, and we continue to grieve the time and choices we feel we may have lost.
We are sharing Solo’s story to highlight the importance of clear communication and ensuring pet owners have the information they need to make informed decisions about their companions’ care.

What We're Fighting For

Three core goals that drive everything we do

01
Awareness
Educate pet owners about the importance of reviewing scan reports and getting consultation notes in writing.
02
Accountability
Hold veterinary clinics accountable for clear, documented communication of all diagnostic findings.
03
Change
Push for industry-wide transparency standards because "do not trust vets totally" shouldn't be the only solution.
Solo’s life mattered. His life could had been prolonged not only with time but with better quality of life. His story is shared to raise awareness and help to prevent similar tragedy from happening to others

What Needs to Change

The hard lessons we learned — and what we want for every pet owner

Consultation Notes in Writing

Every pet owner deserves a written record of what was discussed — including uncertain findings.

Full Scan Report Disclosure

Diagnostic reports should be reviewed thoroughly with pet owners, with significant findings, abnormalities, and recommended follow-up actions clearly explained. Pet owners should also be provided with access to the complete report to support informed decision-making.

No More "Equivocal" Silence

Words like "uncertain" or "equivocal" must be explained — not ignored or left undocumented.

Clear Urgency Communication

Where further investigation, specialist referral, or additional testing is recommended, the urgency and importance of these next steps should be clearly communicated so owners understand the potential risks of delaying action.

Medication Safety First

Always check pre-existing conditions before prescribing. Discuss side effects openly.

CCTV Retention Policies

Clinics must retain footage for reasonable periods — not 30 days that conveniently deletes evidence.
